Karin Hopman - Recorder Hopman joined UFCW 951 fresh out of Calvin College in 1993, having earned a degree in Accounting. Hopman continues to expand her financial education, taking classes at Western Michigan University. Hopman is UFCW 951's Recorder as well as the Director of Finance. As Recorder, Hopman is in charge of preparing for the quarterly Executive Board meetings and keeping a record of the events that take place at those meetings. As Director of Finance, Hopman is known for her attention to detail, and is widely respected throughout 951 for her thorough and careful approach to protecting the financial assets of the membership. When asked what makes UFCW 951 different from other unions, Hopman answered, "We are always looking for ways to improve things, to make it better for our members. We have made tremendous advancements in streamlining our office for efficiency, having automated systems in place that allow us to run specialized reports, as well as a new grievance system. All of this helps us better serve our members." "I'm really excited by the many challenges and opportunities that UFCW 951 offers.
