Marv Russow
- President

Marv Russow has union in his DNA and the UFCW in his bloodstream. His grandfather was a Teamsters leader. His father was an officer of the Retail Clerks local union that became UFCW Local 876, president of UFCW Local 27 and Organizing Director for the Retail Clerks International union.

Marv himself has held officer positions with two UFCW local unions including 11 years as President of Louisville, KY based Local 227. Following that service, he became Executive Assistant to the UFCW International President for the Food Processing and Manufacturing. In the course of his extensive union experience, Marv has dealt with Meijer, Kroger and many other employers.

Prior to his election to the 951 Executive Board, he was serving as Deputy Trustee of UFCW Local 700 in Indianapolis . Marv and his wife Vicki have three daughters.

“Taking the union to the members,” sums up Marv’s approach to reinventing unions for today’s economic reality. “We can’t be our grandfathers’ union,” says Marv and getting the members involved on their terms, whether that is in the workplace or the community, is key.”

“I could not be happier to join UFCW 951 and serve its members,” Marv said. “951 has a tremendous reputation as one of the premier local unions not just in the UFCW, but throughout the union movement.”
